MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia remains No. 23 in both major football polls, released earlier today.
Meanwhile, Saturday opponent TCU has advanced one spot in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll to No. 8, and one spot in this week's Amway Coaches' Poll to No. 10.
It will be the second time since both programs joined the Big 12 Conference in 2012 that both teams are ranked when playing, the other instance coming in 2014 in Morgantown when No. 10 TCU produced a 31-30 come-from-behind victory over the 20th-ranked Mountaineers.
West Virginia was ranked 23rd when it lost 39-38 to the unranked Horned Frogs in 2012, and two years ago fifth-ranked TCU routed West Virginia 40-10 during the Mountaineers' last visit to Amon G. Carter Stadium in 2015.
Saturday's game will be the seventh all-time meeting between West Virginia and TCU, both schools each owning three wins apiece.
Meanwhile, ESPN announced this morning that its popular College Gameday pregame show will be in Fort Worth to promote one of college football's marquee matchups this weekend.
Last weekend, College Gameday was in Blacksburg, Virginia, site of Virginia Tech's game against Clemson.
West Virginia (3-1) and TCU (4-0) are both undefeated in Big 12 play with 1-0 records heading into this weekend.
