MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the second consecutive week, the West Virginia University men’s soccer team is nationally ranked, moving up to No. 22 in the Soccer America Men’s Top 25 poll.
WVU, ranked No. 24 last week, is coming off a home-opening win against Princeton on Saturday night. The Mountaineers (2-1) have won their last two matches, including a win over No. 7 Georgetown on opening weekend.
West Virginia held Princeton to just one shot on its way to a 1-0 victory on Saturday as sophomore midfielder Tucker Stephenson netted his second goal in as many matches.
WVU’s homestand continues on Friday, Sept. 9, as the Mountaineers host ETSU at 7 p.m. ET. The True Blue match will feature a foam finger giveaway, and all fans are encouraged to wear their favorite WVU blue gear to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
