MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior
Marcus Caldeira of the No. 13 West Virginia University men's soccer team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
In a 2-1 victory over James Madison, Caldeira had a goal and an assist, bringing him to 16 points this season, the most in the Sun Belt and seventh in the nation. He also now has four game-winning goals this season, tying him for the top mark in the country.
The Mississauga, Canada native is up to 33 career goals to put him in fifth place all-time in WVU history. He also has 80 career points, which leads all active Division I players.
Caldeira and the Mountaineers will return to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 23, against No. 11 High Point. Kickoff from Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
