In this week’s report, several Mountaineer rookies stood out. Karl Joseph led the Oakland Raiders in tackles, while Wendell Smallwood led the Philadelphia Eagles in rushing. Additionally, Nick Kwiatkoski earned a starting spot in his regular-season debut with the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Next Game: Sunday, Oct. 2 – at Arizona – 4:25 p.m. ET
Tavon Austin caught five passes for 82 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown catch in Los Angeles’ 37-32 win over Tampa Bay. Additionally, Austin ran two times for 22 yards and returned two punts for eight yards. Austin snagged a season-long 43-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter from quarterback Case Keenum, which proved to be the game-winning touchdown. The Rams visit Arizona on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Don Barclay participated on six special teams snaps in Green Bay’s 34-27 win over Detroit on Sunday. The Packers have an open week and return to action on Sunday, Oct. 9 against the New York Giants.

Next Game: Injured Reserve
Terrell Chestnut signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. Chestnut did not play during the preseason because of injury and was placed on injured reserve.
Next Game: Thursday, Sept. 29 – vs. Miami – 8:25 p.m. ET
Will Clarke recorded two tackles and a three-yard sack in Cincinnati’s 29-17 loss to Denver on Sunday. Clarke, who has already set a career high in sacks, is just two tackles away from besting his previous career-best of four tackles in 2015. Cincinnati plays host to Miami on Thursday evening.

KJ Dillion played 15 snaps, 12 of which were on special teams, in Houston’s 27-0 loss at New England. The Texans plays host to AFC South rival Tennessee on Sunday.

Terence Garvin was credited with an assisted tackle and played 21 snaps on special teams in Washington’s 29-27 road victory at the New York Giants. Washington returns home to face Cleveland on Sunday.

Mark Glowinski played all 70 of Seattle’s offensive snaps and nine on special teams in the Seahawks 37-18 win over San Francisco. Seattle treks east this week to face the New York Jets.

Najee Goode played 18 special teams snaps and one defensive snap in Philadelphia’s 34-3 victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Eagles have an open week and return to action on Sunday, October 9, at Detroit.

Bruce Irvin recorded four tackles, a quarterback hurry and forced a fumble in Oakland’s 17-10 win at Tennessee. Irvin’s forced fumble in the second quarter set up a 52-yard Sebastian Janikowski field goal to give Oakland a 10-3 advantage. Oakland, now 2-1, faces the 3-0 Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday.

Next Game: Injured Reserve
Will Johnson signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants in April. Johnson had played in 47 straight games in the regular season with the Steelers, which was the third-longest active streak among NFL fullbacks. However, he suffered an injury early in the preseason and was placed on the Giants injured reserve list.

For the first time this season, Adam Jones led the Bengals with seven combined tackles, deflected a pass and forced a fumble in Cincinnati’s 29-17 loss to Denver. Jones has 14 tackles, three pass deflections and an interception in three games this season. Cincinnati returns to action on Thursday against Miami.

Pat McAfee booted three punts for 121 yards (40.3 yards per punt) with all three inside the 20 in Indianapolis’ come-from-behind 26-22 victory over San Diego on Sunday. McAfee’s net average of 43.4 yards per punt this season ranks fourth in the NFL. Indianapolis crosses the pond to take on Jacksonville on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Next Game: Practice Squad
Shaq Riddick is in his second professional season. The outside linebacker played in three of Arizona’s four preseason games, which included three combined tackles against Denver on Sept. 1. Riddick was placed on the Cardinals practice squad list to start the season.

Charles Sims garnered his first career start on Sunday against Los Angeles, replacing the injured Doug Martin. Sims carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards and caught six passes for 69 yards. Sims capped a nine-play 75-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter to put the Buccaneers up 13-10. However, Tampa Bay fell short in a 37-32 loss to the Rams. Tampa Bay plays host to Denver on Sunday.

Rookie Wendell Smallwood had a breakout performance and recorded his first NFL touchdown in Philadelphia’s 34-3 victory over Pittsburgh. Smallwood ran the ball 17 times for 79 yards, an average of 4.6 yards per carry. He exploded into the end zone for a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter, which capped a drive where he recorded gains of 14 and 12 yards to set up the touchdown. Philadelphia has an open week before returning to action on Sunday, October 9, at Detroit.
