Mountaineers Rank No. 5 in NSCAA Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team sits at No. 5 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll.
The Mountaineers (7-1-1) drop three spots following a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Georgetown on Sept. 18 at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Hoyas (8-1) moved 12 spots and now rank No. 6.
Stanford (7-0-1) continues to rank No. 1. Virginia (8-1) and Florida State (7-1) follow at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, and BYU (7-1) sits at No. 4.
Duke (6-2-1) ranks No. 7, and South Carolina (8-0-1) follows at No. 8. Minnesota (7-2-1) and USC (6-2) round out the top 10.
Texas Tech (7-1-2) is the only additional Big 12 Conference team ranked and checks in at No. 25. Oklahoma and TCU are receiving votes.
The Mountaineers close the nonconference portion of their schedule at Richmond on Friday, Sept. 23, with first kick from Robins Stadium slated for 7:30 p.m.
