MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team’s nine-match home schedule is filled with plenty of exciting promotions for the 2016 season to compliment the action on the field.
“Dollar Nights,” a variety of themed matches and a pre-match youth clinic highlight this year’s promotion schedule.
2016 Promo Schedule
Friday, Sept. 9 against ETSU is a True Blue match and Alumni Association Night. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to cheer on the Mountaineers, and special events are planned for WVU Alumni Association members.
The matchup against UMBC on Wednesday, Sept. 14, is the first of three Dollar Nights. Tickets, and select concession items – small soda, popcorn and Skittles – can be purchased for just $1 each.
Dollar Night returns the following match, on Saturday, Sept. 17, against George Mason. It is also Youth Soccer Day, where kids 13 and under will be admitted for free if they wear their youth soccer jersey. There will be a free clinic for kids 13 and younger before the match. Additionally, the team will sign autographs for all fans following the match.
Boy Scout Night is set for Tuesday, Sept. 20 against American, where troops will receive free admission. Homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 1, against St. Mary’s, in conjunction with the WVU football team’s homecoming tilt with Kansas State.
As WVU opens conference play on Friday, Oct. 7, against Bowling Green, the team hosts WVU Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night, and the squad will sign autographs following the match.
The final Dollar Night of the season is slated for Monday, Oct. 10, against perennial national power Maryland. The Monday Night Fútbol matchup will again feature $1 admission and small sodas, popcorn and Skittles for $1 each.
Senior Night is slated for Saturday, Oct. 15, against Buffalo. In addition to honoring WVU’s six seniors, it is Military & First Responder’s Night, where free admission will be granted to members of the military and first responders with a valid military or first responders I.D. A Mountaineer Kids Club event is also planned, with special youth activities.
At every home match in 2016, fans can collect a poster and schedule cards, while supplies last. Additionally, WVU students will receive free admission to each game with a valid student ID.
