In this week’s report, Nick Kwiatkoski (Chicago), Keith Tandy (Tampa Bay) and Daryl Worley (Carolina) led their respective teams in tackles. If the NFL playoffs started today, nine Mountaineers would be on a postseason team. Nine others are still in playoff contention with three weeks of the regular season remaining.

Next Game: Thursday, Dec. 15 – at Seattle – 8:25 p.m.
Tavon Austin made seven catches for 62 yards and rushed two times for 27 yards in Los Angeles’ 42-14 loss to Atlanta on Sunday. Austin also returned seven punts for an average of 10.6 yards per punt return. Austin’s 23-yard run in the first quarter was the second longest run of the day. Austin is just 11 receiving yards shy of reaching his career-high of 473 set last season. Los Angeles (4-9) looks to snap its four-game losing skid at Seattle (8-4-1) on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Don Barclay played nine snaps in Green Bay’s 38-10 win over Seattle on Sunday. The Packers (7-6) take their three-game win streak to Chicago (3-10) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Will Clarke played 24 snaps on defense in Cincinnati’s 23-10 road victory over Cleveland. Clarke and the Bengals (5-7-1) take on archrival Pittsburgh (8-5) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Rookie KJ Dillon was placed on injured reserve after suffering an injury against Indianapolis on Monday, Oct. 17.

Terence Garvin played 16 special teams snaps in Washington’s 27-22 victory over Philadelphia on Sunday. The four-year pro has eight tackles in 12 games this season, just one shy of his total from last year with Pittsburgh. Washington remains in the NFC playoff picture just a game out of a wild card spot. The Redskins (7-5-1) plays host to Carolina (5-8) on Monday, Dec. 19.

Mark Glowinski played 80 snaps in Seattle’s 38-10 setback to Green Bay on Sunday. Glowinski has started all 13 games for the Seahawks this season. Seattle (8-4-1) returns home to play host to Los Angeles (4-9) on Thursday, Dec. 15.

Najee Goode made a tackle in 16 special teams snaps, as Philadelphia dropped a 27-22 decision to Washington on Sunday. Goode has seven tackles on the season. Philadelphia (5-8) makes a quick trip to Baltimore (7-5) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Bruce Irvin made three tackles in Oakland’s 21-13 loss at Kansas City last Thursday. Irvin has a career-high 45 tackles along with five sacks and four forced fumbles in 13 games. Oakland (10-3) visits San Diego (5-8) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Will Johnson signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants in April. Johnson had played in 47 straight games in the regular season with the Steelers, which was the third-longest active streak among NFL fullbacks. However, he suffered an injury early in the preseason and was placed on the Giants injured reserve list.

Karl Joseph was not active in Oakland’s 21-13 loss at Kansas City last Thursday. The rookie suffered a toe injury in the first half of the Buffalo game on Dec. 4. His status is unknown at this time for the Raiders (10-3) game at San Diego (5-8).

Rookie Nick Kwiatkoski led the Bears with eight tackles and recorded his first career sack in Chicago’s 20-17 loss to Detroit on Sunday. Kwiatoski’s sack came late in the second quarter as the Lions were driving down the field. This season, the linebacker has recorded 28 tackles, two pass deflections and a sack in 11 games. Chicago (3-10) plays host to Green Bay (7-6) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Pat McAfee averaged 40.5 yards on his two punt attempts on Sunday in Indianapolis’ 22-17 loss to Houston. The Colts (6-7) visit Minnesota (7-6) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Charles Sims returned to action after suffering an injury on Oct. 2. Sims ran four times for 17 yards and caught three passes for 33 in Tampa Bay’s 16-11 win over New Orleans on Sunday. The Buccaneers (8-5) visit Dallas (11-2) in a Sunday Night showdown on Dec. 18.

Wendell Smallwood carried the ball three times for three yards and returned a kickoff for 27 yards before leaving Sunday’s game against Washington in the second quarter. Smallwood suffered a right-knee injury and was placed on injured reserve. The Eagles fell 27-22 to the Redskins on Sunday. Philadelphia (5-8) returns to action at Baltimore (7-5) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Dreamius Smith was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad on Nov. 28. Smith signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers last season. He was placed on injured reseve on August 30 and released two days later. Smith appeared in two games with the Chargers in 2015.

Quinton Spain played all 67 of Tennessee’s offensive snaps and three special teams snaps in the Titans’ 13-10 win over Denver. Spain helped the NFL’s No. 3 rushing attack accumulate 180 yards against the Broncos. Tennessee (7-6) needs a win at Kansas City (10-3) on Sunday, Dec. 18 to stay in the hunt for the AFC South division title.

For a second consecutive week, Keith Tandy’s late-game interception helped seal a victory for Tampa Bay. With 57 seconds remaining in the game, Tandy intercepted a pass from New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees to preserve a 16-11 Buccaneers victory. Tandy intercepted a late-game pass at San Diego on Dec. 4. Tandy led Tampa Bay with nine tackles, three pass deflections and an interception. Tampa Bay (8-5) visits NFC East division leader Dallas (11-2) on Sunday, Dec. 18.

J.T. Thomas played 11 snaps on special teams before suffering a knee injury in New York’s 20-19 season-opening loss at Dallas. Subsequently, the Giants placed Thomas on injured reserve on Monday, Sept. 12.

Daryl Worley led the Panthers with 10 tackles, an interception and a pass deflection in Carolina’s 28-16 win over San Diego on Sunday. Worley returned his second-quarter interception for 22 yards and set up an eventual Carolina touchdown. Worley’s 77 tackles this season rank third among NFL rookies. Carolina (5-8) visits Washington (7-5-1) on Monday, Dec. 19.
