In this week’s report, Pat McAfee recorded a career-long 74-yard punt in Indianapolis’ win over Chicago. Rookie Karl Joseph continues to impress with a fumble recovery and an interception in Oakland’s 34-31 win over San Diego. Additionally, Mountaineers Charles Sims (Tampa Bay) and Kevin White (Chicago) were placed on injured reserve.

Tavon Austin caught seven passes for 59 yards and ran three times for 26 yards in Los Angeles’ 30-19 loss to Buffalo on Sunday. Austin’s longest catch of the game was a 31-yard pass from quarterback Case Keenum. The play eventually set up a Rams field goal. Austin has 23 receptions for 218 yards and one touchdown in five games this season. Los Angeles (3-2) visits Detroit (2-3) on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Will Johnson signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants in April. Johnson had played in 47 straight games in the regular season with the Steelers, which was the third-longest active streak among NFL fullbacks. However, he suffered an injury early in the preseason and was placed on the Giants injured reserve list.

Karl Joseph continues to impress with the Oakland Raiders. The rookie recorded six tackles, intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in Oakland’s 34-31 win over San Diego. Joseph intercepted a pass in the second quarter that set up a Sebastian Janikowski field goal to end the half. He later recovered a fumble in the third quarter that would later result in an Oakland touchdown to give the Raiders a 27-24 lead. Joseph is fifth in the AFC among rookies with 24 tackles. His three pass deflections are tied for first among AFC rookies. Oakland (4-1) plays host to Kansas City (2-2) on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Pat McAfee recorded a net average of 56.7 yards per punt in Indianapolis’ 29-23 win over Chicago on Sunday. After booting a 72-yard punt at Denver on Sept. 19, McAfee registered a new career-high with a 74-yard punt on Sunday. The 74-yard punt is the third-longest in the NFL this season. Indianapolis (2-3) visits Houston (2-3) in a critical Sunday night showdown on Oct. 16.

Charles Sims was placed on injured reserve on Monday, Oct. 10, after suffering a knee injury at Denver on Oct. 2. Sims, who was tabbed the starting running back after an injury to Doug Martin, ran 41 times for 116 yards and one touchdown and caught 14 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown in four games.
