Mountaineers in the Pros Update: Week 4

Three weeks of the NFL season are complete. Former Mountaineer Adam Jones had a big week with six tackles, a pass deflection and an interception in Cincinnati’s victory over Baltimore.

Alford joins former Mountaineers Will Clarke and Adam Jones on the Cincinnati roster. The 5-foot-9 wide receiver was drafted in the seventh round by the Bengals this spring. He has been inactive for the Bengal’s first three games this season. Cincinnati hosts Kansas City on Sunday.
Austin caught five passes for 38 yards, including a 12-yard run in St. Louis’ loss to Pittsburgh. He returned three punts for an average of 10.7 yards per return. The Baltimore native is fourth on the team with eight receptions for 42 yards. St. Louis visits the Arizona Cardinals this weekend.
Bailey was targeted for one pass in the Rams’ defeat to Pittsburgh. St. Louis looks to rebound this weekend in Arizona.

Barclay made his second start of the season, playing in all 76 offensive snaps for the Packers. Green Bay collected a 38-28 win over Kansas City Monday evening. The Packers make the cross-country trip to San Francisco on Sunday.

Clarke played mostly special teams and saw action on 10 defensive snaps in Cincinnati’s 28-24 victory at Baltimore. Clark has a tackle and a pass deflection in three games this season. The Bengals host Kansas City on Sunday.
Garvin picked up his first tackle of the season in Pittsburgh’s 12-6 road victory against St. Louis. Garvin played 80 percent of the Steeler’s special teams snaps on Sunday. The Steelers host Baltimore in a Thursday night showdown.
In his return back to the NFL, Goode made two stops in Philadelphia’s 24-17 triumph over the New York Jets. The Eagles visit the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Glowinski was one of Seattle’s two fourth-round draft picks in the 2015 NFL Draft. He joins former Mountaineer Bruce Irvin on the Seahawks roster. Glowinski has been inactive during the Seahawks’ first three games this season. Seattle takes on Detroit during Monday Night Football on October 5.
Will Johnson played in Pittsburgh’s 12-6 victory at St. Louis. On the season, Johnson has carried the ball four times for seven yards and a touchdown. Pittsburgh takes on the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday.
Adam Jones had another solid effort in the Bengals’ 28-24 victory at Baltimore. Jones racked up six tackles, a pass deflection and an interception. His second quarter interception of Joe Flacco set up a Cincinnati touchdown to give the Bengals a two touchdown lead. Jones leads all Bengals defensive players with 25 tackles this season. Cincinnati hosts Kansas City on Sunday.

Bruce Irvin completed five tackles and had a quarterback hurry in Seattle’s 26-0 shutout of Chicago. On the season, Irvin has 10 stops and a fumble recovery. Seattle plays Detroit on Monday Night Football next week.
McAfee punted five times for an average of 49.8 yards per punt in the Colts’ win at Tennessee. His longest of the day was a 54-yard punt. McAfee also scampered 18-yards on a fake punt to convert a first down in the third quarter. Indianapolis hosts Jacksonville on Sunday.

After having a breakout season in his first year with Chicago, Munday was placed on the injured reserve list last month after sustaining a hip injury. Munday had a career-best 103 tackles and four interceptions in 2014 for the Bears.
Shaq Riddick begins his rookie campaign after being selected in the fifth round (158th overall) by Arizona in this year’s draft. Riddick has been inactive the past three weeks. Arizona welcomes St. Louis on Sunday.

Sims rushed six times for 11 yards last week. He caught two passes for 41 yards and a touchdown. Sims notched his first career NFL touchdown with a 32-yard catch from rookie Jameis Winston in the second quarter to give Tampa Bay a 9-7 lead. Sims has registered seven receptions for 78 yards and rushed 19 times for 61 yards in three games. The Buccaneers host Carolina this weekend.

White was drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2015 NFL Draft. White signed his contract in May, but suffered a setback in August. The Bears announced that White will start the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list due to a surgery needed to repair a stress fracture in his shin.
