MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 52nd renewal of the West Virginia-Maryland game takes place later today at Milan Puskar Stadium.
West Virginia holds a 27-22-2 advantage in the all-time series, which began with a meeting in Morgantown back in 1919. These two schools met annually from 1980 until 2007 when the series took a pause for two years in 2009-10.
Today’s game will be the sixth straight meeting and the last until play resumes once again in 2020 for two more contests.
West Virginia holds a 14-9-1 record against Maryland in games played in Morgantown, including winning four straight from 2004-2012 – the last time Maryland made an appearance at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on Fox Sports 1. The Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG’s coverage begins with the Mountaineer Tailgate Show at 11:30 leading into game coverage at 2 p.m.
Prior to Saturday’s game, the WVU Sports Hall of Fame will induct its newest class, headlined by former WVU grid standouts Ken Herock, Amos Zereoue and former coach Bobby Bowden. The ceremony will take place at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility at noon and is free to the general public.
