Wrestling Announces Alumni Weekend

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (September 17, 2015) – West Virginia University wrestling coach Sammie Henson and staff will welcome former Mountaineers back to campus as part of the team’s annual Alumni Weekend, held Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8.
Alumni are asked to submit their name, e-mail, address and years with the program to MountaineerUnited@gmail.com to receive an invitation. Alumni must current Varsity Club members in order to participate in the event. The event will kick-off Friday evening with a social at Kegler’s from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The cost of the social is $25 per guest (three guests per person). Beverages will be provided.
Alumni are invited to attend an open room practice at the WVU Wrestling Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 7, starting at 7:30 a.m. Following the conclusion of the open room session at 8:30 a.m., attendees are invited to a meet and greet session with Henson and the 2015 WVU wrestling team. Breakfast will be provided.
Varsity Club members plus two guests are invited to the Varsity Club Pregame Tailgate (Coca-Cola Hospitality Village) prior to kickoff. The event will be fully catered and features the WVAAQ Radio Show.
The WVU wrestling program has reserved a block of tickets for alumni to watch the football team take on Big 12 foe Texas Tech on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. Active varsity club members can purchase one ticket for a cost of $25 and additional tickets for a cost of $60 per ticket. Tickets are limited and must be purchased through the Varsity Club by Monday, Oct. 26.
On Sunday, Nov. 8, wrestling alumni are invited out to the WVU Coliseum as the team opens the 2015-16 season by hosting the Mountaineer Quad. The Mountaineers will take on Campbell, Drexel and rival Arizona State in a trio of dual matches starting at 10 a.m.
