MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University juniors Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence have been named to the 2015 Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List, released today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The award is college soccer’s version of the Heisman Trophy and represents the highest level of individual achievement in the sport. Players are selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by a committee of Division I coaches who are NSCAA members.
“Earning a spot on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List is an amazing achievement for Kadeisha and Ashley,” said Mountaineer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “Landing on this list is recognition of all the hard work these talented athletes put in each day. I’m extremely excited for both of them to have the opportunity to be a part of such a prestigious list.”

Near the end of the collegiate regular season, NCAA Division I coaches whose programs are current NSCAA College Services members will vote on their top choices, and the list will be narrowed down to the top 15 players. From that pool, three women will be chosen as finalists. The winner will be announced on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at the trophy presentation banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
