WVU Cracks AP Top 25
November 30, 2015 04:29 PM | Men's Basketball
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The undefeated West Virginia University men’s basketball team cracked the Associated Press Top 25 Poll at No. 20 this week following victories over Richmond and San Diego State last weekend to capture the 2015 Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational.
It’s the first time this season the 6-0 Mountaineers have been ranked by the writers. Last year, WVU finished 20th in the final AP poll released prior to the NCAA tournament.
West Virginia also jumped seven spots to 15th in this week's USA Today Coaches’ Poll. The Mountaineers began the year ranked 23rd in the coaches’ poll and moved up one spot to No. 22 last week.
WVU returns to the court to face Kennesaw State on Saturday in a non-conference game at the WVU Coliseum that will tipoff at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets for that game and other home games are available through the Mountaineer Ticket Office by calling toll-free 1-800-WVU GAME or by logging on to WVUGAME.com.
