• Named to the All-Big 12 Second Team
• Named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team
• Named the National Player of the Week (NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper) and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on April 11 after taking a perfect game into the eighth inning on April 8 vs. Kansas
• Made nine appearances with nine starts before sustaining a season-ending arm injury
• Posted a 3-1 record, finished third on the team with 61 strikeouts, was third amongst pitchers with at least three appearances with a 2.87 ERA, allowed 15 earned runs on 29 hits with 15 walks in 47.0 innings pitched while holding opposing batters to a .174 batting average
• Finished second on the team with four quality starts
• Allowed two earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts on April 15 vs. No. 3 TCU
• Pitched 7.2 perfect innings before allowing a hit on April 8 vs. Kansas, striking out a season-best 12 in 8.0 innings and walking none, improving to 3-1 and earning multiple National Player of the Week accolades
• Gave up one earned run on five hits while striking out eight in a win over Jacksonville on March 25
• Pitched five no-hit innings while striking out 11 and walking three to earn his first win of the year at Old Dominion on March 10

2016 (Freshman)

• Named to the All-Big 12 Honorable Mention Team
• Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team
• Made 16 appearances with seven starts, earning a record of 2-4
• Was third on the team with 56 strikeouts, fourth with a 3.40 ERA and allowed 17 earned runs on 45 hits in 45.0 innings and added three quality starts
• Pitched 6.2 innings and allowed one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts at No. 5 Texas Tech on May 19
• Struck out a career-high-tying and team-best 13 batters in a win over Maryland while allowing one run on six hits on May 10 and was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on May 16
• Pitched 8.1 innings in relief and did not allow a run while striking out a career-best 13 batters to earn the win at Oklahoma on April 24 and be recognized as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on April 25
• Started against rivals Marshall and Pitt in back-to-back weeks and did not allow an earned run in 5.0 innings in each contest
• Picked up his first career save with 2.0 innings of scoreless work in relief, allowing two hits and striking out three at Hawaii on March 4

High School

• Played for coach Mike McLeod at Wheeling Park High
• Went 23-7 and advanced to the 2014 WV Class AAA semifinals as a junior
• Had a 1.20 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 33.2 innings in 2014 while hitting .488
• Named to the 2014 West Virginia Sports Writer’s Association All-State First Team and 2013 Honorable Mention Team
• Named the 2014 Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year
• Ranked the No. 2 player in West Virginia by Prep Baseball Report
