Joey Cuomo joined the West Virginia University baseball program as the director of player development in the summer of 2019 after multiple seasons of serving as a student manager with the Mountaineers.

Cuomo handles all aspects of camp management and operation, including marketing and budgeting. He also generates player/game data reports and assists the staff in a variety of areas.

A native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Cuomo spent time as a volunteer student manager at WVU from 2017-19 and became the co-founder and volunteer head coach of Cumberland Valley Twilight Baseball. Cuomo also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Cumberland Valley High School and volunteer instructor and camp director for Cumberland Valley youth baseball.

As a player, Cuomo co-captained Cumberland Valley High to its best finish in school history and was twice named the Cumberland County Pitcher of the Year. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and statistics from West Virginia University in May 2019.
