• Played four seasons of baseball for coach Scott Ellis at Bishop Kelley High
• Earned all-state honors and was a three-time All-Metro selection
• As a senior, hit .463 with 10 home runs, 18 doubles and eight stolen bases while leading team to a state championship
• High school career record holder in doubles (53) and sacrifices (42)
• Three-year letterwinner in football as an outside linebacker earning all-conference honors, while also earning two letters in basketball as a shooting guard

• Father played 15 seasons of Major League Baseball as a catcher
• Brother, Chris, was a standout catcher at Wichita State and is currently in the Los Angeles Dodgers farm system
