• All-Big 12 Second Team
• Academic All-Big 12 Second Team
• Gustafson took sixth overall in both the 500 free (4:28.31) and the 200 free (1:37.24); also competed in the B finals of the 100 free (9th - 44.14) at Big 12 Championships
• Helped the 800 free relay (6:31.40) and 200 free relay (1:19.73) earn silver medals at Big 12s, while placing third in the 400 free relay (2:55.75)
• Finished second in the 200 free relay (1:20.96), third in the 500 free (4:30.37) and the 400 free relay (3:01.48) against Notre Dame

• All-Big 12 First Team
• Represented WVU at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship and USA Swimming’s 2019 Toyota U.S. Open
• Competed in the A final of the 200 freestyle at the Big 12 Championship and finished seventh with a time of 1:39.47; also won the 500 free consolation final (4:27.26) and placed fifth overall in the 1,650 free (15:46.16)
• Also earned a bronze medal in the 800 free relay at Big 12s, after the team combined to post a time of 6:35.20
• Captured a win in the 500 freestyle in 4:34.25 against George Washington; also finished sixth in the 200 medley relay (1:35.14) and fourth in the 200 free (1:40.98)
• Against Villanova, he secured wins in the 1,000 free and 500 free after touching the wall in 9:35.64 and 4:41.97, respectively; also placed third in the 50 free (21.24) 
• Notched a victory at TCU as a member of the 400 free relay with a time of 3:06.29; also placed second in the 200 free (1:43.11) and 200 free relay (1:26.86)
• Earned a win in the 500 freestyle after touching the wall in 4:36.31 at SMU; also placed second in the 200 free with a time of 1:41.15
• Finished fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:34.23), fourth in the 200 free (1:42.54), second in the 500 free (4:37.30) and third in the 200 free relay (1:24.19) against Pitt
• Competed in the 400-meter freestyle, 50-meter free, 100 fly at the Toyota U.S. Open

2018-19 (Sophomore)

• Academic All-Big 12 Second Team
• Won the consolation final and placed ninth overall in the 200 free at Big 12 Championship (1:37.89)
• Also finished 10th in the 500 free (4:27.22) and 11th in the 100 free (44.90) at the conference meet
• Helped 800 medley relay team to a bronze medal at Big 12s
• Earned the win in the 500 free against TCU, touching the wall in 4:40.72
• Also placed third in the 200 free against the Horned Frogs in 1:43.82
• Finished fourth in the 500 free at Pitt – 4:41.62
• Took 16th overall in the 200 free at the Ohio State Invitational after his B-final swim of 1:40.21

• Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team
• Helped 800 free relay team to a silver medal at the Big 12 Championship
• Earned a sixth-place finish in the 200 free at Big 12s in a time of 1:38.73
• Also finished eighth in the 200 fly at the conference meet (1:50.08)
• Placed second in the 1,000 free vs. Villanova (9:53.68)
• Against Pitt, he finished third in the 500 free (4:37.98)
• Recorded a third-place finish in the 200 fly in a time of 1:54.51
• Swam in the D final of the 200 fly at the Ohio State Invitational, finishing 33rd overall in 1:51.73

• Finished second in the 500 free at the Big 12 vs. Big East Weekend, touching the wall in 4:40.24, behind teammate Trayton Saladin
