MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12-ranked West Virginia University women's soccer team fell to UCF, 1-0, on Friday afternoon at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown.

The Knights got on the board in the 25th minute and didn't look back. Despite outshooting UCF 10-0 in the second half, West Virginia's efforts weren't enough to overcome the deficit.

In the final stats, West Virginia led in every category, including 14-3 in shots, 5-1 in shots on goal and 4-1 in corner kicks. Redshirt senior midfielder Alexis Pashales led the offensive effort for WVU with three shots.

With the win, the Mountaineers' advantage in the all-time series with the Knights moves to 3-2-1.

Up next, West Virginia heads out for a two-game road trip, beginning at No. 8 Texas Tech on Thursday, Oct. 22. Kickoff John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock, Texas, is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
