MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virgina University tennis team wrapped up a successful opening day at the Thunder in the Mountains tournament, held at Schoenbaum Tennis Courts in Charleston, W.Va.
All three Mountaineers received first round byes before winning their round of 16 matches to move into Saturday's quarterfinals.
Quarterfinal action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27.

- Audrey Moutama (WVU) def. Sara Martinez Sanmartin (Charleston), 6-1, 6-2
- Julie Bousseau (WVU) def. Thalia Smith (Marshall), 6-2, 7-6
