Mountaineers Open Fall Season at Bedford Cup

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team begins its 2025 fall season this weekend at the Bedford Cup at the JTCC Tennis Facility in College Park, Maryland, from Sept. 19-21.
Along with West Virginia, the teams competing in the Bedford Cup include Delaware State, Coppin State, George Mason, George Washington, Johns Hopkins, Loyola (Maryland), Maryland, Morgan State, Norfolk State and Virginia Commonwealth.
WVU returns three players from last season, graduate student Julie Bousseau and sophomores Lyla Byers and Laura Villanueva Morillo. They will be joined by four newcomers, including two transfers, seniors Audrey Moutama and Daniella Shved and freshman Zuzana Saxana Kudlácková and Lucia Tognoni.
The Bedford Cup will give the Mountaineers their first competitive matches of the fall, with singles and doubles competition scheduled across three days of play.
