Golf Adds Aidan Dortch

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University golf coach Sean Covich has announced the signing of Aidan Dortch to a grant-in-aid for the 2025-26 academic year.
Dortch is a native of Dallas, Texas, who attended TCU this past season and previously attended Trinity Christian-Addison High School.
Dortch Bio:
Covich on Dortch: "We are excited to add Aidan to our roster for next season. Aidan is a young man that we are very familiar with having recruited him out of high school. I believe he will take advantage of his opportunity to compete for a starting role in our lineup and depth of talent already on our team."
Dortch is a native of Dallas, Texas, who attended TCU this past season and previously attended Trinity Christian-Addison High School.
Dortch Bio:
- Competed in three tournaments last year at TCU
- Shot a season-low 71 in the final round of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 1
- Helped his high school to four 6A state championships from 2021-24
- Named to the 6A All-District, All-Region and All-State teams from 2021-24
- Set the 6A region tournament scoring record with a 65-65
- Was a two-time state medalist runner-up in 2023 and 2024 and a state medalist in 2022
- Broke the all-time TCA season scoring average
- Held an American Junior Golf Association ranking of 97 at the end of the 2024 summer
- As a junior golfer, he finished tied for eighth at the Jack Burke Jr. Invitational
- Tied for 10th at the Mizuno Junior Championship
- Tied for 17th at the Arnold Palmer Junior Invitational
- Competed at the Western Junior Championship
- Finished tied for 16th at the Under Armour/Jordan Spieth Championship after finishing tied for second in 2022
- Placed eighth in the Jack Burke Jr. Invitational and Mayakoba Invitational in 2024
- Recently he shot a 66 to qualify for the 116th Texas Amateur, shooting rounds of 71-69-70-70
- Has made the cut finishing inside the top 40 in the Texas Amateur three consecutive years
- Majoring in business
- Son of Darren and Cathy Dortch
