MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team will host the Utah Utes for the first time at Kendrick Family Ballpark, April 4-6. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday, 4 p.m. ET on Saturday and noon ET on Sunday.

West Virginia is 24-4 this season after wins on Tuesday at Ohio State and at home on Wednesday against Pitt. The Mountaineers won 9-6 in Columbus led by junior
Logan Sauve who went 3-for-3 with two walks and three RBI. Senior
Reese Bassinger threw 5.1 innings to earn his fourth save while allowing just two runs and striking out two. Sophomore
Armani Guzman also made an incredible play in the bottom of the fifth, robbing a home run in right field and doubling off a runner at first.
On Wednesday against Pitt, the Mountaineers defeated the Panthers, 11-1, to win their eighth straight Backyard Brawl. Freshman
Gavin Kelly had three hits and three RBI to pace the offense while freshman
Benjamin Hudson earned the win with 5.0 innings of work, allowing just one run and striking out four.
The Mountaineers are in three polls this week, checking in at No. 11 by Perfect Game, No. 23 by NCBWA and No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
West Virginia is currently 12th in the country and second in the Big 12 with a 3.71 team ERA, which includes 11 pitchers with an ERA below four. At the plate, they are putting up a .318 batting average as a team, 20th in the country and second in the Big 12.

Led by head coach Gary Henderson, the Utes are 13-13 this season and 2-7 in Big 12 play after being swept by Arizona State last weekend.
Core Jackson leads the team with a .406 batting average as well as leading in hits (43), home runs (6), runs batted in (24) and total bases (73). The Utah pitching rotation is led by Colter Mcanelly who has a 2.72 ERA and two wins.
