
Naukot Breaks Program Record at Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team continued its strong opening weekend as two Mountaineers turned in all-time program performances at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
Sophomore Joy Naukot delivered the highlight of the meet, placing sixth in the 5,000 meter invitational with a time of 15:11.91, breaking her own indoor school record of 15:36.87.
Redshirt sophomore Lexi Lamb also impressed in the 5,000 meter, finishing 23rd in 15:50.27, a time that now ranks second all-time indoors at WVU.
The Mountaineers return to action after the break on Jan. 16 at the YSU Collegiate Indoor Invitational.
