Mountaineers Earn Trio of Wins at Youngstown Icebreaker

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team opened its 2025-26 indoor season with multiple event wins and several top finishes at the Youngstown Icebreaker.
WVU posted three event victories on the day, highlighted by a sweep of the top two spots in the mile, where Tecla Lokrale claimed the win in 5:05.16, followed closely by Aislinn Frazer in 5:05.40.
The Mountaineers also impressed in the 3,000 meters, earning four top six finishes. Kishay Rowe led the field with a winning time of 10:03.32, while Mary Delaney placed third (10:15.23), Alyssa Sauro finished fourth (10:21.64) and Eva Rinker took sixth (10:27.42).
In the field events, Annishka McDonald opened her season with a first place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.76 meters. Alicia Hall added a 17th place showing in the long jump (5.29.) and Olivia Cress placed 16th in the shot put with a mark of 11.03 meters.
