
Rifle Drops Match Against No. 4 TCU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 3-ranked West Virginia University rifle team dropped its first match of the season to TCU inside the X-Count Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
West Virginia scored 4707 while the Horned Frogs managed a mark of 4732. The loss is the first in the regular season for the Mountaineers in three seasons.
The Mountaineers fell short in both smallbore and air rifle, with scores of 2329 and 22378, respectively. TCU finished with scores of 2348 in smallbore and 2384 in air rifle.
For smallbore and air rifle, Senior Maximus Duncan, sophomores Jennifer Kocher, Ashlyn Blake and Camryn Camp and freshman Jack Ogoreuc served as counters.
Camp paced the Mountaineers with a third-place finish. She scored an aggregate mark of 1182, just one point off first place, and hit scores of 587 in smallbore and 595 in air rifle. Duncan produced the high air rifle score of the afternoon with a 598. He added a 578 in smallbore to total a 1176. Duncans mark in air rifle was a career high.
Kocher hit a 1177 (584 SB – 593 AR), Ogoreuc a 1172 (580 SB – 592 AR) and Blake a 1168 (577 SB – 591 AR)
West Virginia is back in action on Sunday, Nov. 9, when they take on UTEP and Murray State inside Converse Hall in Columbus, Ohio, at 9 a.m. ET.
