
Twelve Mountaineers Named to CSC Academic All-District Soccer Teams

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A total of 12 student-athletes from the West Virginia University men's and women's soccer teams were placed on the 2025 Academic All-District Soccer Teams, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday.
Senior Marcus Caldeira, junior Pablo Pozos, senior Ethan Dekel Daks, graduate student Bryce Swinehart, junior Constantinos Christou, and junior Thijs Veldhorst represented the men's team. On the women's side, senior forward Ajanae Respass, junior midfielder Anna Hauer, junior defender Nyema Ingleton, redshirt sophomore Gianna Koss, sophomore midfielder Maddie Levy and sophomore forward/defender Sophia Nickel were featured on the team.
With the recognition, the Mountaineers' 12 honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America selections will be announced in mid-December.
Caldeira (finance), the 2024 CSC All-American of the Year, earned his third career All-District honor as did Swinehart (master's in executive sport management) while it is the second for Pozos (coaching and performance science) and Dekel Daks (general business). It is the first for Christou (economics) and Veldhorst (general business).
For the women's team, Koss (general business) was placed on the team for the second time in her career. Respass (finance), Hauer (sport management), Ingleton (general business), Levy (finance) and Nickel (exercise physiology) earned their first academic all-district honors as Mountaineers.
