
Mountaineers Conclude Home Slate Against No. 22 Iowa State on Senior Night

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (15–12, 3–12 Big 12) concludes its regular season home slate by welcoming No. 22 Iowa State (21–5, 11–4 Big 12) to Hope Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 21. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
The Mountaineers will celebrate Senior Night, as they honor departing seniors Cassidy Tanton, LonDynn Betts, Laila Ibrahim, Chalina Lederer and Quincey Coyle.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $10 each and $7 each for groups of 10 or more. Any remaining tickets are $12 at the ticket window on match day.
WVU student tickets are available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Hope Coliseum, and are free with a valid WVU Student I.D. The office, as well as the stadium gates, opens at 5 p.m. on game day.

Friday's contest marks the 30th all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Cyclones, with Iowa State holding a 25–4 advantage in the series dating back to 1994. The Cyclones won the previous match this season between the two teams, winning in four sets on Oct. 16 in Ames, Iowa. West Virginia seeks its first win over the Cyclones since 2021.
Redshirt junior setter Alexis Finnvold stands second in the conference in service aces (49) and aces per set (0.48). Senior libero LonDynn Betts ranks fifth in total digs (387). Junior middle blocker Maddy McGath is sixth in hitting percentage (.330), while senior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim sits at 13th in total blocks (104.0) and 12th in blocks per set (1.11).
Iowa State enters the match following a road victory over Cincinnati on Nov. 19. Under the direction of head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, now in her 21st season with a career record of 401–224, the Cyclones are ranked No. 22 in the latest AVCA poll. Senior outside hitter Maya Duckworth was named to the Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Team.
