
Mountaineers Open Final Homestand Against UCF Friday Night

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (15–10, 3–10 Big 12) begins its final homestand of the season against UCF (15–10, 6–8 Big 12) on Friday, Nov. 14, inside Hope Coliseum. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
Friday's match will highlight Girls Night Out, featuring a WVU hair claw clip giveaway, a Glam bar, and a friendship bracelet station. A sorority competition will also take place, with the sorority registering the highest attendance earning a $250 G.O.A.T. gift card.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance by visiting WVUGAME.com or calling 1-800-WVU GAME. When purchasing online, tickets are $10 each and $7 each for groups of 10 or more. Any remaining tickets are $12 at the ticket window on match day.
WVU student tickets are available at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Hope Coliseum, and are free with a valid WVU Student I.D. The office, as well as the stadium gates, opens at 5 p.m. on game day.
Lanny Frattare and Sam Bailey have the call of Saturday's match on ESPN+, while live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Sunday's contest marks the sixth all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Knights, with UCF holding a 3–2 advantage in the series dating back to 1998. The Knights earned a straight-set victory over WVU earlier this season on Oct. 12 in Orlando, Florida.
West Virginia enters the weekend following a five-set victory over Texas Tech on Nov. 12 in Lubbock, Texas.
Statistically, the Mountaineers rank among the Big 12's top five in three categories: third in hitting percentage (.255), fourth in total blocks (222.0), and fifth in assists (1,121).
Individually, redshirt junior setter Alexis Finnvold stands second in the conference in service aces (44) and aces per set (0.45). Senior libero LonDynn Betts ranks fifth in total digs (352). Junior middle blocker Maddy McGath is seventh in hitting percentage (.353), while senior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim sits tenth in total blocks (100.0) and 11th in blocks per set (1.12).
UCF, under first-year head coach Matt Botsford, enters the series with a 15–10 overall record and a 6–8 mark in Big 12 play. The Knights are coming off a straight-set loss to Cincinnati on Nov. 12. Junior outside hitter Avah Armour was named to the Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Team.
