
West Virginia Splits Weekend in Pennsylvania

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team will send split squads this weekend to the Spiked Shoe Invitational on Sept. 13 and the RMU Colonial Invitational on Sept. 14.
The Spiked Shoe Invitational will be hosted by Penn State at the Blue & White Courses in University Park, Pennsylvania at 10 a.m. ET. Saturday's RMU Colonial Invitational with be hosted by Robert Morris at the Youthtowne Fields in Clinton, Pa. at 9 a.m.

West Virginia returns to the grass after opening the season with the WVU Alumni Relay Meet on Aug. 30 in Morgantown. Sophomore Audrey Hall completed the two-mile relay in 11:08, clinching a second-place finish. Redshirt freshman Mary Delaney and sophomore Eva Rinker finished fourth and fifth, with times of 11:34 and 11:36, respectively.
The Mountaineers were tabbed as No. 4 in the Mid-Atlantic Region preseason poll, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Aug. 26. WVU also received votes, (17) in the USTFCCCA preseason coaches poll.
