
Mountaineers Head to Missouri for NCAA Championship Meet

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team is set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 22, in Columbia, Missouri. The women's 6k race is scheduled for 10:20 a.m. ET at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
The championship appearance marks the Mountaineers' fifth trip to nationals in the last six seasons.
WVU enters the national meet fresh off its second straight Mid-Atlantic Regional title last weekend. The Mountaineers posted 56 team points and placed four runners on the All-Region team. Sophomore Joy Naukot won the individual regional title with a personal-best time while breaking the course record and tying the Mid-Atlantic regional meet record. Redshirt sophomore Mercy Kinyanjui finished runner-up, also coming in under the course record.
Junior Lexi Lamb and redshirt senior Emily Bryce added top performances to secure All-Region honors, helping solidify the automatic spot in the National Championship.
The race will be streamed live on ESPNU and live results will be available at WVUsports.com.
West Virginia remains at No. 7 in the NCAA DI Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, after the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the rankings on Nov. 17.
