MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University gymnastics coach
Jason Butts has announced the addition of graduate transfer Trinity Macy to the 2024-25 Mountaineer roster.
A native of Rowlett, Texas, Macy arrives in Morgantown after spending two seasons at Eastern Michigan from 2023-24, which followed a two-year stint at Pitt from 2021-22.
During her time at EMU, Macy competed in every meet on uneven bars in 2024, while also earning time in the balance beam and floor lineups. In 2023, she appeared in 11 meets in her first season as an Eagle, as she was voted the team's Newcomer of the Year that season. Macy boasts career highs of 9.875 on bars, 9.825 on beam and 9.85 on floor.
Prior to arriving at EMU, Macy earned a spot on the 2021 EAGL All-Tournament Second Team as a freshman at Pitt. She recorded season bests of 9.85 on bars and 9.8 on beam and floor during her first collegiate season.
Academically, Macy has been recognized as a WCGA Scholastic All-American and earned a spot on the EAGL All-Scholastic Team and the ACC Academic Honor Roll while at Pitt.
In club gymnastics, Macy trained at Metroplex Gymnastics in Allen, Texas, where she was a two-time Texas state champion. A six-time JO Nationals medalist, she earned top-10 finishes in three different events at nationals. Macy graduated from Texas Connections Academy.
The daughter of Michael and Mirella, Macy will pursue her Master of Business Administration at WVU.
