MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –
The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, along with the Big 12 Conference, has announced the 2026 gymnastics schedule.
The Mountaineers' 2026 slate is highlighted by four home meets at Hope Coliseum in Morgantown and features eight opponents who qualified for the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships last season.
West Virginia is set to open the campaign on the road for the fourth time in the last five seasons, traveling to Gainesville, Florida, for a quad meet on Friday, Jan. 9. The season-opening quad will feature the host Gators, North Carolina and Temple. Of note, this marks the third straight season WVU and Temple have faced one another in the season opener.
The Mountaineers remain on the road on Sunday, Jan. 18, when they travel to Kent, Ohio, for a dual meet against the Golden Flashes.
The 2026 home and Big 12 slate officially opens on Saturday, Jan. 24, when WVU welcomes Denver to Hope Coliseum. The following weekend, Pitt and Cornell travel to Morgantown for a tri-meet on Friday, Jan. 30.
West Virginia will then make the trek to Ames, Iowa, for the first time since 2022 for a conference matchup against Iowa State on Friday, Feb. 6. The Mountaineers then return to Morgantown to play host to Arizona State on Saturday, Feb. 14, before traveling to Tucson, Arizona, the following weekend to compete against Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 21.
WVU wraps up the home portion of its schedule against BYU on Friday, Feb. 27, as the Cougars are set to make their first-ever trip to Morgantown.
From there, West Virginia will embark on four straight road meets to conclude the regular season. First, the squad will compete in its second quad meet of the year at Towson with NC State and Ursinus on Sunday, March 1, in Towson, Maryland.
WVU will then make its first of two trips to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a dual meet at Utah on Saturday, March 7, to wrap up Big 12 regular-season competition.
West Virginia concludes the 2026 regular season with a double weekend, which begins at NC State on Friday, March 13, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Mountaineers will then travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, March 15, to cap the regular season against Pitt, Illinois State and Penn.
Postseason competition then begins with the 2026 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship, slated for Saturday, March 21 at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
The 2026 NCAA Regional Championships are scheduled to take place from April 1-4, with Arizona State, Kentucky, LSU and Oregon State set to be regional hosts.
The 2026 NCAA National Championships are tabbed for April 16-18, in Fort Worth, Texas.
West Virginia will return to competition in 2026 after reaching the NCAA Regional Championships for the 44th time in program history last season. WVU posted three scores of 196.0+ to finish the year with a 195.855 National Qualifying Score and rank No. 36 nationally. Senior
Anna Leigh was named to the All-Big 12 Team on floor, while freshmen
Karleigh DiCello and
Emerson Smith were named to the All-Freshman Team. At the 2025 Big 12 Championship, freshman
Sophia Rice tied for second place on floor with a 9.9, earning a spot on the All-Championship Team.
