Izzo-Brown Announces Signing of Koss for 2024

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women's soccer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown has announced the addition of defender Gianna Koss to the 2024 fall roster.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Koss arrives in Morgantown after spending one season at Kentucky, where she redshirted the 2023 season. She will join the Mountaineer roster as a redshirt freshman.
Prior to arriving at Kentucky, Koss was a 2022 All-WPIAL and all-section honoree for Beadling Soccer Club, where she served as a team captain. In 2021, she helped Beadling SC to a national playoff appearance. Koss graduated from Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pa.
Of note, Koss is the granddaughter of former WVU football coach Frank Cignetti, while her uncle, Curt, is currently the head football coach at JMU.
The daughter of Jason and Theresa, Koss plans to major in business management at WVU.
