
Green Leads WVU Golf After 18 Holes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University junior golfer Max Green shot 1-under-par to lead the Mountaineers during the first round at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia.
Green recorded four birdies to post a team-best 71 after 18 holes on Friday. He is tied for 17th place out of 84 golfers.
Senior Will Stakel shot 1-over-par (73), fifth-year senior Trent Tipton and sophomore Kaleb Wilson each shot 2-over-par (74) and junior Todd Duncan posted a 3-over-par round (75).
As a team, the Mountaineers stand in 11th place in the 14-team field at +4 (292).
The second round of the Schenkel Invitational will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the final holes on Sunday.
