Turowski Shoots 7-under-par on Sunday in Michigan

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University junior golfer Nick Turowski shot 7-under-par on Sunday to help put the Mountaineers in second place after one day of competition at the Island Resort Collegiate at Sage Run Golf Club in Bark River, Michigan.
Turowski shot rounds of 70-67 and is in fifth place individually, four shots off the lead heading into Monday's final round.
As a team, the Mountaineers are in second place at 10-under-par, shooting 2-under-par in the first round and 8-under-par in the second round. WVU leads North Texas and Marquette by one stroke while Michigan leads at -29 in the 12-team field.
Junior Ryan Leach is tied for 13th place at 3-under-par with rounds of 68-73. Sophomore Jack Michael is tied for 17th place at -2 after shooting 74-68. Junior Aidan Dortch is +2 after posting rounds of 74-72. Sophomore Gabe Schmitz is +8 with rounds of 76-76. Freshman Michael Silvers is competing as an individual and is +1 with rounds of 71-74.
The final round will begin with tee times on Monday morning starting at 7:30 a.m.
