WVU Golf Shoots 7-Under-Par on Moving Day

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team shot 7-under-par during the second round of the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia, on Saturday.

Junior Max Green continues to lead WVU in Georgia. He shot a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday and is tied for 12th place at 5-under-par.

Fifth-year senior Trent Tipton and senior Will Stakel both shot 2-under-par on Saturday. Stakel is tied for 35th place at 1-under-par, while Tipton is tied for 41st place at Even par. Junior Todd Duncan and sophomore Kaleb Wilson each shot 1-over-par on Saturday. Wilson stands at +3, while Duncan is at +4.

As a team, the Mountaineers stand in 10th place in the 14-team field after rounds of 292-281 (-3).

The final round of the Schenkel Invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Also, four WVU golfers will compete as individuals in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Cookeville, Tennessee, starting on Sunday. Competing for WVU will be seniors Jackson Davenport and Oli Ménard and sophomores Carson Kammann and Westy McCabe.
