
West Virginia Opens 2024 Outdoor Season at USF Alumni Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team is slated to open the 2024 outdoor season at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Florida on March 15-16.
The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+, while live stats also are available at WVUsports.com.
Tentatively, the outdoor season opener kicks off on Friday at 5:40 p.m. ET, for the Mountaineers in the women's 800-meter run. Additionally, West Virginia will compete in the women's 5,000 meters at 7 p.m.
West Virginia continues competition on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. in the women's triple jump, followed by 1,500-meter run at 12:50 p.m.
Next, the Mountaineers will compete in the women's high jump at 1:30 p.m. West Virginia will then race in the 400-meter dash at 2:00 p.m. The Mountaineers conclude competition at the USF Alumni Invitational at 3:50 p.m. with the women's 4x400 meter relay.
Last time out, redshirt junior Ceili McCabe finished sixth in the women's mile at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship in Boston, Massachusetts with a program record time of 4:29.26. McCabe earned First Team All-America honors with her finish, collecting her eighth All-American honor.
