Golf Returns to Action This Weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team will return to action on Friday at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia, hosted by Georgia Southern
The three-day event will be played at the par 72, 7,123-yard Forest Heights Country Club. Golfers will play 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
No. 97 West Virginia will be joined by 11 other teams in the Top 100 nationally in the 14-team field. Other teams competing are No. 17 Florida, No. 25 Mississippi State, No. 29 Notre Dame, No. 54 Florida Gulf Coast, No. 58 South Carolina, No. 66 North Carolina State, No. 67 Kentucky, No. 78 Middle Tennessee State, No. 90 Georgia Southern, No. 96 Wisconsin, Campbell, UAB and Army.
WVU's lineup will consist of fifth-year senior Trent Tipton, senior Will Stakel, juniors Todd Duncan and Max Green and sophomore Kaleb Wilson. Stakel will tee off first for WVU on Friday on the 10th hole at 9 a.m., followed by Tipton, Wilson, Duncan and Green.

Beginning Sunday, four Mountaineer golfers will compete as individuals in the Bobby Nicholls Intercollegiate in Cookeville, Tennessee. Competing for WVU will be seniors Jackson Davenport and Oli Ménard and sophomores Carson Kammann and Westy McCabe.
