
Divers Complete Day One of NCAA Zone Diving Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Divers from the West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the first day of competition at the 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, New Jersey, on Monday.
To begin the day, freshman Owen Recker and junior Glenn Eloriaga competed in the men's 3-meter preliminary round. The top 18 divers from the round would qualify for the final.
Recker just missed the cut, placing 23rd with a final score of 296.85. Eloriaga finished with a total score of 264.75 to place 36th as neither diver qualified for the final.
For the women's team, sophomore Abigail Sullivan and junior Sarah Krusinski competed in 1-meter preliminary round. Like the men's competition, the top 18 divers from the round would qualify for the final.
Sullivan finished with a total score of 243.65 to place 29th. Krusinski scored a 194.45.
The championship will continue on Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. ET for the women and noon for the men. Competition will be livestreamed on ESPN+.
