
Five Mountaineers to Compete at NCAA Zone A Diving Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Divers from the West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at the 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships from March 11-13, at DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, N.J.
The women's events will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET on Monday and Tuesday with the men's events beginning at noon. On Wednesday, the women will begin at 11 a.m. and the men at 2 p.m.
Five divers will represent West Virginia at the championship including freshman Owen Recker, sophomore Abigail Sullivan, juniors Glenn Eloriaga and Sarah Krusinski and senior Sara Haggerty.
Recker, Sullivan and Krusinski will each compete in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events. Eloriaga will compete in the 3-meter and platform. Haggerty will compete in the platform event.
Haggerty set the WVU program record in the platform event against Iowa State on Jan. 27, with a total score of 287.85. This was the third time in her career she set the school record in this event and the second time in as many meets during the 2023-24 season.
Krusinski has qualified for the zone diving championships in each of her three seasons at WVU. Last season, she placed 15th in the women's platform finals.
During his freshman season, Eloriaga placed 14th in the men's platform event at this event. Eloriaga placed eighth in the A final of the men's platform event at the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships.
Sullivan qualified for the zone diving championships in her freshman season. She competed in the 1-meter and the platform events.
In his first season at WVU, Recker has qualified for the zone diving championships. At the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, Recker placed seventh in the A final of the men's platform event.
All three days will be livestreamed on ESPN+.
