
West Virginia Has Impressive Showing at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The day was highlighted by redshirt senior Mikenna Vanderheyden who finished with a time of 2:45.67, placing herself third on the all-time list with her personal best time in the women's 1,000-meter run. Classmate Sarah Tait also set a personal best in the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 9:16.29.
In the first event of the day, freshman Kishay Rowe contributed a personal best in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:10.04.
Redshirt sophomore Emily Bryce slated another personal best in the women's mile with a 4:49.60 time.
The meet concluded with a personal record by redshirt sophomore Tatiana Moura who finished with a time of 9:59.02 in the women's 3,000-meter run.
Next up, the Mountaineers will travel to the Penn State Tune-Up in University Park, Pennsylvania and the Terrier DMR Challenge in Boston, Mass on Friday, Feb. 16. The Penn State Tune-Up is slated for 2:00 p.m. ET, while the Terrier DMR Challenge is set for a 7:15 p.m. start.
