
McDonald Highlights Regular Season Finale

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team finished the regular indoor season on Friday at the Penn State Tune-Up in University Park, Pennsylvania.
The day was highlighted by redshirt freshman Annishka McDonald who placed first overall in the women's high jump at the 1.70-meter mark.
Freshman Sophia Ludwig also had a strong showing in the women's triple jump with a third-place finish at 11.86 meters.
On the track, freshman Sierra Heisey finished third in the women's 60-meter dash finals, with a time of 8.31.
Junior Ghamani Hogue finished with a personal best in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a 9.44 time and a third-place finish.
In the women's 400-meter run, freshman Cate Pickering finished with a time of 1:01.93 claiming second place while redshirt junior Macey Crawford finished with a time of 1:03.04.
Redshirt junior Cassandra Williamson claimed sixth-place in the women's 800 meters with a 2:09.48 time.
Freshmen Lily Haught and Izayah Everett had impressive showings in the women's 200-meter dash, finishing with times of 25.41 and 26.12, respectively.
Next up, West Virginia heads to the Big 12 Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 23 through Saturday, Feb. 24. This years Big 12 championships will be hosted by Texas Tech at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas. The championship will be streamed on ESPN+ while live results can be viewed on wvusports.com.
