
Mountaineers Set for Final Regular Season Road Trip Against Oklahoma State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 24 West Virginia University women's basketball team is set for the final regular season road trip of the season with a matchup against Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Feb. 27, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Tipoff against the Cowgirls is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Tuesday's matchup with Oklahoma State will be broadcast live on the Mountaineer Sports Network, including 100.9 WZST-FM, with Andrew Caridi on the call. Fans also can listen to the game on the Mountaineer Sports Network.
Additionally, the contest will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Mike Wolfe and Bryndon Manzeron on the call. Live stats and game notes will be available on WVUsports.com.
Tuesday's game marks the 28th all-time meeting between WVU (22-5, 11-5 Big 12) and Oklahoma State (13-14, 6-10 Big 12). West Virginia is 15-12 all-time against the Cowgirls, including 5-7 in games played in Stillwater. The meeting is the first this season.
The pair met three times last season, most recently playing in the 2023 Big 12 Tournament where OSU won a close 62-61 contest. WVU and OSU split the regular season meetings with both teams winning on their home floor.
Oklahoma State comes into the contest off a 91-56 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday on the road. The Cowgirls sit in eighth place of the conference standings after struggling in the middle portion of Big 12 play, losing six straight games from Jan. 20 to Feb. 10.
Four Cowgirls are averaging double figures this season, led by Hannah Gusters with 14.8 points per game. Stailee Heard (13.6), Anna Gret Asi (12.7) and Quincy Noble (12.4) also score in double figures. Heard paces the team in rebounds with 6.2 per game as Asi leads OSU in assists (4.6) and steals (1.5).
The Mountaineers come into the contest after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Both losses came against teams ranked inside the AP Top 25 poll. WVU is 2-3 against teams in the poll this season.
The Mountaineers were led in scoring by junior guard JJ Quinerly who finished with a career-high 33 points, marking the third time this season she has scored over 30 in a game. Sophomore guard Jordan Harrison finished with 16 points and added five rebounds.
Quinerly (19.7), Harrison (13.4) and fifth-year guard Lauren Fields (10.2) continue to pace WVU's offensive effort this season. Quinerly is the leading scorer in the Big 12 conference with 532 total points as her 19.7 points per game rank fourth. Quinerly became the 28th player in program history to reach 500 points in a season with her career-high performance against Baylor.
The Mountaineers have the top four steal leaders in the Big 12 with Quinerly (3.2), Harrison (3.0), Fields (2.3) and junior guard Kyah Watson (2.2). Harrison has racked up 148 assists this season, the best in the conference, and is averaging 5.5 per game. Watson paces WVU in rebounding, with 6.5 per game.
