MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After moving up one spot to No. 18 in the NWCA Division I Coaches Poll, the West Virginia University wrestling team welcomes Glenville State to the WVU Coliseum on Wednesday, Nov. 6. First match is set to start at 7 p.m. ET.

Wednesday's matchup with GSC has been declared Military Appreciation Night, where we will honor military service members prior to the dual. Any military service members in attendance will also get free admission with a valid ID. It also marks Youth Team Night, as youth teams around the area are invited to the dual. Make sure you fill out our youth wrestling team form to get your team in for free. What's more, the home opener will be Dollar Night, with tickets and select concessions available for only $1 each.

West Virginia and Glenville State face off for the fourth consecutive year and fifth time in the overall series since the first meeting back in 1975. WVU led off the series with a 28-6 road win over the Pioneers, before GSC closed the doors on its wrestling program for the next 45 years. In 2022, the two teams renewed the series, as the Mountaineers pulled away with a 40-3 victory. That matchup was followed by a 37-9 win as part of a quad to begin 2023. Last season, a 42-3 victory in the regular-season finale was part of the fifth-ever Beauty and the Beast event with the WVU gymnastics team.

Ranked No. 15 in the latest NCAA Division II poll, the Pioneers are led by WVU's first Big 12 Champion and fifth-year coach Dylan Cottrell. Cottrell led his program to its first Mountain East Conference (MEC) title in 2024 after guiding the Pioneers to back-to-back, 16-win seasons and consecutive runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2023, as well as being named the 2023 MEC Coach of the Year.

Among the individual rankings, six Mountaineers enter the week listed in the second edition of FloWrestling's rankings. This list includes fifth-year senior Peyton Hall (No. 3-165), senior Jett Strickenberger (No. 18-125), redshirt junior Jordan Titus (No. 16-141), redshirt sophomores Brody Conley (No. 23-174) and Ian Bush (No. 23-184) and sophomore Ty Watters (No. 3-149). Glenville State has four Pioneers ranked in the Division II InterMat rankings, including Hunter Ross (No. 11-125), Gavin Quiocho (No. 1-133) Guy Deleonardis (No. 9-165) and  Nick Johnson (No. 9-197).
