
West Virginia Concludes Road Play Against No. 24 BYU on Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (8-18, 2-13 Big 12) continues its road swing against No. 24 BYU on Nov. 23 in Provo, Utah. First serve will be at 3 p.m. ET, inside of the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse.

Saturday's match marks the fourth meeting between the Cougars and the Mountaineers. BYU leads the all-time series, 3-0 and captured the last win of the series, 3-0 on Nov. 22, 2023, in Morgantown.
Last time out, West Virginia was downed by No. 19 Utah, 3-0 on Thursday night in Salt Lake City, Utah inside of the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The Mountaineers were led by junior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim who collected seven kills and five total blocks, while hitting .333%.
Senior outside hitter Hailey Green led the team in kills, collecting eight.
West Virginia ranks No. 5 in the Big 12 with their 155 service aces in 102 sets, averaging 1.52 aces per set. Redshirt junior outside hitter Cassidy Tanton is tabbed at No. 8 in the conference with her 34 aces on the year, averaging 0.37 aces per set.
Ibrahim and graduate student libero Sydney Reed rank tenth in the Big 12 in blocks and digs, averaging 1.09 blocks per set and 3.59 digs per set, respectively.
Heather Olmstead is in her 10th season at the helm of the Cougars, with an overall record of 254-44. BYU enters the match, 16-9 with a 9-6 mark in conference play after falling, 3-2 to Cincinnati on Nov. 21 in Provo.
