West Virginia Climbs to No. 13 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team climbed two spots to No. 13 in the second edition of the AP Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountaineers are coming off two wins against Power Four opponents in the nonconference schedule. WVU defeated Pitt 82-54 in the Backyard Brawl on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and then beat Texas A&M 83-62 on Friday, Nov. 15.
The ranking is the highest West Virginia has been featured in a regular season poll since being ranked 12th during the 2018 season. This is the sixth straight season WVU has won its first four games.
WVU earned 387 points in the poll. A total of five Big 12 teams appeared in the rankings, including No. 8 Iowa State (549), No. 10 Kansas State (486), No. 18 Baylor (194) and No. 19 TCU (182).
The Mountaineers return to the floor on Tuesday, Nov. 19, when they welcome Bowling Green to the WVU Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
