
Lake Reaches Smallbore Final at ISSF World Junior Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Griffin Lake, a member of Team USA, made the men's smallbore final at the ISSF World Junior Championship on Tuesday where he turned in a sixth-place finish.
The Emmaus, Pennsylvania native posted a 149.4 during the finals. He qualified in sixth place after scoring a 584 with a 196 kneeling, 198 prone and a 190 standing all while hitting 31 centers across his 60 shots.
Lake teamed up with fellow Americans Brayden Peiser and Tyler Wee to claim seventh place in the men's smallbore team event. The trio combined to score 1738 points.
Sophomore Lauri Syrja, who is competing for team Finland, finished in 18th place on the individual leaderboard. He scored 580 with 27 centers after marks of 192 kneeling, 193, prone and 195 standing.
Freshman Jacob Wisman, competing for the United States, finished in 26th place with a 577 and 27 centers. He posted marks of 193 kneeling, 196 prone and 188 standing.
Lake, Wisman and Syrja will now turn their attention to prone action which is scheduled to begin on Thursday morning.
