
West Virginia Closes Out Regular Season Against Kentucky

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 2-ranked West Virginia University rifle team is set to close out the regular season against No. 1 Kentucky with a shot at the program's 17th Great America Rifle Conference Regular Season title on the line.
Saturday's match against the Wildcats is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET at the Bill McKenzie Mobile Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building in Morgantown. With a win, the Mountaineers will claim the program's third straight GARC regular season title.
Senior Maximus Duncan will also be honored at the match with senior day festivities taking place after the match.

The Mountaineers are 24-13 all-time against Kentucky in a series that began in 1963.
WVU's 2394 in air rifle during the fall semester tied the all-time NCAA mark and set a new program record. The Mountaineers' 2385 average in air rifle is second in the nation. The squads' aggregate average of 4736.2 is fourth and the 2351.2 in smallbore sits third.
Griffin Lake averages a 1190.4 aggregate mark with an average of 592.5 in smallbore. The scores are the second best in the country. He is third in the nation in scoring average in air rifle so far this season with a 597.2.
