Lake Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Griffin Lake of the West Virginia University rifle team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Lake finished two competitions this week with a first-place score of 1195 against Norwich and John Jay and a second-place score of 1192 against Army. His 598 in smallbore against Norwich and John Jay is tied for the second-highest total ever shot in NCAA history and a new WVU program record.
This season, Lake has averaged an 1191 aggregate score, which is the best mark in the country, while his 594 in smallbore also leads the nation. His 596 average in air rifle is the sixth-best mark so far this season.
