
No. 20 West Virginia Defeats Morgan State

BALTIMORE, Md. – The No. 20 West Virginia University wrestling team closed out the weekend with a 40-3 win over Morgan State inside Talmadge L. Hill Field House on Sunday afternoon.
West Virginia (9-3) claimed three technical falls in three of the first four matches of the day to jump out to a 15-3 lead and never looked back from that point, scoring 25 unanswered points in the final six bouts of the contest.
WVU improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 at MSU (1-15) in the all-time series. It also marks the seventh time the Mountaineers have scored over 30 team points this season.
Looking ahead, WVU closes out Big 12 action against No. 4 Iowa State (Feb. 2) and No. 22 Northern Iowa (Feb. 4) in its final road trip of the season.
